Welcome at Glamrocking Of The 70s, the home of REAL Glamrock. Here you can read all about the glittering and glamming years of the early 1970s. 

If you get a happy smile on your face every time you hear an old 1970s song on the radio - especially a glamrock song - and your mind every time slips back to those careless teenage years, you have landed on the right place. This is where we keep the seventies alive.

This site is dedicated to those artists, who were the core of the glam era. They were fewer than we all really remember. Not many artists of the glam era were real glamrockers. As you can see on the names to the left, only 12 singers or groups have slipped through our fine glamfilter. 

The word "glam" comes from "glamour" and is or was a visual thing. Marc Bolans manager Tony Secunda's wife Chelita Secunda was the one credited for putting glitter on Marc's face and thus starting Glam Rock. On our Facebook-group there is an ongoing discussion about which artists were glam and which were not. 

To the right you can find links to our other pages. There´s a little list of birthdays of all major glamartists and producers. It´s sad to see how many of them who have already left us! Also there will be biografies of those people who were "pulling the strings" in the glamworld, especially producers and songwriters. We will also add the tourdates of the year for those glamartists who can still walk by themselves...
